The 7-day private Kilimanjaro trek via the Shira Route begins with a drive to Shira Gate followed by a trek across the expansive Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus in Africa. Starting at a higher altitude, the route offers immediate panoramic views but requires good physical condition. The trail continues toward Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Valley, following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. With personalized support from experienced guides and crew, climbers enjoy flexibility and comfort. The journey continues through Karanga and Barafu Camps before a midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak, followed by descent via the Mweka Route.

Day 1: Shira Gate to Shira Camp 1

Drive from Moshi or Arusha to Shira Gate and continue by vehicle to the starting point. Begin trekking across the Shira Plateau with gentle ascents and wide-open views. Arrive at Shira Camp 1.
